“I hope my team wins!”
“I hope the grocery store has what I’m looking for!”
“I hope I get to see my friends soon!”

We toss around the word “hope” very lightly. But what does hope really mean?

Hope – To trust in, wait for, look for, or desire something or someone; or to expect something beneficial in the future.

Today’s action step is intentionally simple. Spend a few minutes today thinking about the hope you have from God, in His word, and in His love. Here are a few Psalms you can meditate on:

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Psalm 39:7

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psalm 42:5

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. Psalm 62:5

But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. Psalm 71:14

Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Psalm 119:114

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Psalm 147:11

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. Psalm 31:24

For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. Psalm 38:15
