Reading God’s Word is the best way to grow Spiritually. Reading the Bible will bring you hope, encouragement, guidance, and practical advice on the every day issues you’re facing. The Bible is relevant to everyone, everywhere, at any time.

Bible Baptist Church accepts, embraces, preaches from and promotes only the 1611 King James Bible as the Word of God for the English speaking people. We believe this unequivocally, and unapologetically.

Psalm 119:9 says “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”

Verse 11 says “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Verse 105 says “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

It is important that you establish a daily reading plan. Here are some links to various Bible Reading Plans and Bible sources:

God’s Word is alive! The more you expose yourself to it, the more it will expose itself to you.

To know God better you must spend time hearing what He has to say. The Bible is His message to you. If you want Him to listen to what you have to say, you should also listen to what He has to say.

Although God can also speak directly to your heart, you need to know His written Word so you can judge whether God is speaking to you, or the enemy is trying to deceive you.

God will not love you more because you read the Bible. It’s for your benefit — not required to make God love you. However, without reading the Bible, you will not grow spiritually, and you will be more easily deceived.

Prayerfully reading the Scriptures yourself is the only real defense against being misled.

“I’m a busy person with a lot to do. Why should I spend time reading the Bible? I don’t have time to do all I need to do as it is.”

“I already believe in Jesus Christ. I’ve already heard the Gospel.”

“Why should I read the Bible?”

The following Scriptures should answer the question.
John 8:31-32 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Acts 20:32 “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

II Timothy 3:16-17 ” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
