Live Showing Forgiveness
Colossians 3:13 “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
Living in the last days means we should live a life of Forgiveness. Not always easy to do… but always right.
In Matthew 5, 6 and 7 Jesus gives the Sermon on the Mount… the most beautiful sermon that has ever been Given.
He covers many subjects: The Beatitudes are his first point. Then he goes on to cover the subject of Salt and Light in regards to our life.
He goes on to let us know that he came not to do away with the law but to fulfill it. The he deals with subjects such as anger and lust and even Divorce as well as making oaths.
He closes chapter 5 with retaliation and encourages us to love our enemies.
He opens chapter 6 by encouraging us to give to the needy. Then he gives that great example of the model prayer. Along with everything he encourages us to pray, in verse 14 he says “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
In verses 14 and 15 he expounds on the importance of forgiveness “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Those are his words not mine. Forgiveness is so important if we won’t forgive someone for their trespasses against us… God will not forgive us of our trespasses.
Let us live in the last days, a life that exemplifies forgiveness… as Christ has forgiven us… let us forgive other also.
