Live Resting in Jesus
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
These last days are very tiring, trying and tumultuous and we are tempted to throw in the towel. But not if we are resting in Jesus.
Jesus understands life’s burdens and encourages us to cast our care upon him. As Peter tells us in I Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
He didn’t say “casting some of your care” or “your heaviest care” but “ALL” your care. My professor in Bible college, Dr. Wayne Henderson, gave us a great technical definition of the word “all.” He said it means all to the exclusion of none designated by the noun. The noun in the case being care… ALL your care.
Someone said, “you want to know what that little word “all” means in the Greek… it means “ALL!”
We can rest in the peace of Jesus that passeth all understanding by simply Resting in Him.
Psalm 68:19 says it beautifully “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”
Daily he loadeth us with benefits… and one of those many benefits is the privilege of “Resting in Jesus!”
