The Prolonged “Why”

Sometimes “Why?” lingers not because God ignores us, but because His purpose is unfolding. In John 11, Jesus delayed going to Lazarus, allowing him to die, though He could have healed him instantly. Why? His answer: “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God” (John 11:4).

The prolonged “Why” trains our patience. We see delay; He sees design. We want immediate relief; He seeks eternal results. Lazarus’ resurrection would proclaim Christ’s power more mightily than a simple healing ever could.

When your “Why?” stretches into days, months, or years, remember—God’s timetable is perfect, and His delays are never His denials.
